Ms. Reitterer has 25 years of experience in electrical engineering systems, dealing with a variety of projects that include K-12 schools, college and universities, hospitals, banking facilities, office building, data centers, and more. She attended The Johns Hopkins University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. She is a registered professional engineer in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland. Ms. Reitterer has experience with interior and exterior lighting design, lighting and controls, uninterruptible power systems, generator power systems, low voltage signaling power systems, medium and low voltage power distribution systems, fire alarm systems, and multiple other innovative designs. Ms. Reitterer is an award winning lighting designer and has given presentations on both a local and national scale for lighting, sustainability, and power systems. Her presentations include Light Fair Internationals, 7x24 International Exchange, United Stated Green Building Council, UNC at Charlotte, and other private educational sessions. She has served as chairman of the Emergency Lighting Committee of the Illuminating Society of North America. Ms. Reitterer, along with her partner, founded Elm Engineering as a way to fulfill her vision of engineering with less impact on the environment.
